We’re looking for intelligent and intellectually inquisitive people to come on board in London to help build our Audience Targeting Engine (ATE). ATE classifies our users into different segments of the population, so we can deliver relevant ads. It combines page view events and predictive models for classification. By creating segments in ATE and using them at campaign booking, our Ad Sales organisations can sell advertising campaigns that target users of a particular demographic (e.g. gender👦👩) or location, amongst others. We are a cross-functional team, with Engineers, Data Scientists, Product managers/owners and UX designers working side-by-side on a daily basis, with a strong culture of openness and collaboration.

You would join our cross-functional team and collaborate with other engineers, Data Scientists, product owners and UX designers on a daily basis. You’d utilise Machine Learning and Engineering skills to architect and develop global scale solutions. You’d be responsible for building efficient and robust solutions, capable of inferring from billions of events to produce real-time predictions. These systems impact millions of users across the globe, personalising both content and advertising to improve the user experience.
Architect and implement distributed, fault tolerant data processing systems capable of processing billions of events per day.
Work closely with data scientists to define and develop infrastructure and distributed machine learning services.
Write high quality, maintainable code and drive improvements in our development environment.
Keep on top of the emerging best practices and champion these within the organisation.
Collaborate closely with many other teams within Schibsted across our numerous offices.
You are fluent in
You have a rock solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals (algorithms, and data structures)
You have experience in processing lots of data with
You have experience with a large-scale key-value store
You are passionate about machine learning
You have lots of experience with
AWS or similar cloud service
