- Vision: Product-driven vision (enough guidelines, without constraining details), where each team member has the context to contribute to or understand the reasoning behind our decisions
- Process: Developing MVP-first, always proving hypotheses and maintaining a low cost to pivot
- Tech: Industry standard tech, knowing how to push the boundaries of Wayfair Engineering
- Quality & velocity: Strong testing and automation culture, focusing on efficient experience (e.g. frequent unblocked deployments) rather than static KPIs (e.g. fixed unit test coverage)
- Teamwork: Pair programming, frequent ad-hoc team sessions, light calendar load, flexible schedules
- Fun: Culture with a lot of mutual respect, yet lighthearted enough not to take ourselves too seriously and have plenty of care, fun and laugh
