About the Team & Role:

The Engineering team at Composer is at the forefront of developing our automated trading platform. This platform integrates complex trading algorithms with a user-friendly interface, making advanced trading strategies accessible to a broader audience. As an Engineering Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our product's future. You'll lead a team of skilled engineers in building scalable, reliable systems, ensuring our platform remains at the cutting edge of trading technology.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.

- Oversee the development and implementation of high-performance trading systems, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards for speed, accuracy, and reliability.

- Enable individual contributors to do their best work by minimizing context switching

- Prioritize a multitude of requests for the engineering team, taking into account resource constraints and business objectives

- Collaborate with product, marketing and compliance to align engineering projects with company objectives and customer needs.

- Maximize the velocity of the team while maintaining a high quality bar

What We're Looking For:

- A seasoned engineering leader with experience managing teams in fast paced startups 

- The ability to prioritize and organize: you like bringing order to chaos

- Excellent communication skills; you enjoy writing and interacting with others.

- Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks, such as Python, C++, or Java.

- Interest in functional programming is a huge plus.

- Strong leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent.

- A focus on business outcomes over outputs

- Passionate about delivering a great experience for customers

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
